It is well established that dry needling is an effective treatment for the orthopedic musculoskeletal system as well as the neurological system. Although dry needling uses the same monofilament needles as acupuncture, this technique is distinctly unique. It relies on the practitioners expert knowledge in anatomy and physiology to direct treatment appropriately

DO I NEED DN?
Anyone with pain or restrictions, whether it be your ankle or pelvic floor could benefit from dry needling as an adjunct to traditional physical therapy. Minimally invasive and affordable, this is a great option to help you get better faster.

BENEFITS
-
1) biomechanical changes- changes in the muscle tone (spasm/tightness) and muscle performance (ability to recruit)
-
2) biochemical changes- reduction in inflammatory and pain markers in the local tissue environment and corresponding central segment
-
3) vascular changes- improved blood flow to the local and surrounding tissues
-
4) peripheral nerve changes- improved conduction speed, decreased impedance of the neural signal, improved motor and sensory nerve fiber regeneration and a reduction in spontaneous electrical activity
-
5) central nervous system changes- changes in the upper brain centers that relate to centrally mediated pain
